Greetings from the President
To be a company that shoulders responsibility for the future of the country and supports hungry entrepreneurs
Japan was once the leading economy in the world, but things have gone downhill after peaking in 1990 and the GDP per citizen now stands at 30th in the world. With many experts worrying that the country's very existence may even be in jeopardy if the situation continues, the next generation are faced with the question of how to live. I believe that the ultimate key lies in securing resources for resource-poor Japan. As such, we provide support to companies engaging in promising new initiatives concerning food, energy, information, and other resources important for Japan, as well as hungry and motivated entrepreneurs.
What I am working on myself, however, is the development of mineral resources in Mongolia. While being sandwiched between Russia and China as well as being landlocked does make it somewhat difficult to secure routes for export from Mongolia, the location offers the advantage of being able to find out about the actual situation in Russia and China - information that simply does not reach Japan. Another appealing aspect of Mongolia is the country’s affinity for Japan given Japan’s cooperation in areas such as post-war compensation and its significant contribution to economic growth since the democratization of Mongolia. I decided to invest in Khaan Bank, the largest bank in Mongolia, and the Berkh Delgerkhaan mine after becoming convinced that they were the real deal.
Going forward, we will focus on supporting hungry and motivated entrepreneurs and on Mongolia-related business that will benefit both Japan and Mongolia.

History
Junichi Hattori (born 1951) established Wayo Co., Ltd. In 1987 as his own personal asset management company. In 2001, when he was serving as chairman of Seiko Instruments, he established WAYO-EARTH Co., Ltd. with the aim of resource development. When he visited Mongolia for the first time in 2018, he felt the country had great potential, and resolved to do business there. In the same year, he established WAYO-EARTH LLC with an office in Mongolia. In 2020, upon the start of development work in the field of fluorite, Mr. Hattori set up the company WAYO-FLUORITE LLC together with businesspersons from Mongolia. He went on to acquire the Berkh Delgerkhaan mine in Mongolia’s Khentii Province.
